HGV Class 2 Driver (Category C) – Temp to Perm

Job Overview
We are currently recruiting HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for immediate starts in Bicester. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers seeking ongoing work with a clear pathway to a permanent position.
You will be working for a well-established distribution operation, delivering food products to a range of hospitality clients including restaurants and fast-food outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-drop deliveries (typically 3–8 drops per shift)
- Delivery of:
- Fresh produce
- Frozen goods
- Meat and dairy products
- Manual handling and handballing using a electric pump truck
- Unloading and placing goods into appropriate storage areas (chilled, frozen, ambient)
- Completing all deliveries accurately and within scheduled times
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and adhering to all driver compliance and safety regulations
- Securing delivery sites (full training provided for keys and alarm systems)
Shift Patterns
- Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday
- Start times between 00:30 and 06:00
- Average shift length: up to 12 hours
Salary: £17.50 – £20.00 per hour + Holiday Accrual + Pension (PAYE) direct employment No umbrella
Equivalent pay with rolled up holiday £19.62 to £22.41 per hour
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience
- No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Good level of physical fitness (due to manual handling requirements)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Strong understanding of UK driver hours and regulations
